For me this has a slightly magical feel to it. It’s not an image I’d usually make. I’m short white magic. It accidentally captured something I like about the Dales, the slight off kilter nature of it all.

Evergreen plantations are common in small areas in parts of the Dales. Everything underneath them is normally dead, and they don’t create much in the way of good habitat. Productive for generating wood though. Image is not good but heading in a direction I like. Needed more living trees at the top.

The Dales is an artificial landscape that results from mass deforestation and widespread livestock farming. I like the explicit evidence of that. It’d have been more impactful closer.

I like the light, I like the receding lines, I like that the countryside is separated from the viewer by a window. I like the built railway which pushes through the landscape. I think the colours work. However, this isn't the Dales and it's very similar to other things I'd do.

This doesn't work. It's cliched. The lights ok. It doesn't say anything I want to say. Maybe because I don't know what I want to say.
