Like with flashbacks, you are There. You're /In/ the Memory. You are Back. With Intrusive Memories, you can experience sensations from Back Then, but you're still aware of the present.

And I had never heard flashbacks properly described to me in a medical capacity, only had mainstream media to go off of, and my docs were like, "ok, let's lay out the differences." Which cleared up a LOT. Intrusive memories are Incredibly!! Distressing!! But an ENTIRELY different creature.
