@yeastychic.bsky.social Unfortunately, I’ve seen people try to downplay the severity of COVID by emphasizing its ~1% fatality rate while ignoring other effects such as long COVID symptoms. Just because people don’t die from a disease doesn’t mean that they can’t be affected in other ways by it.
