Very interesting. While at IBM in the 1980s I wrote software to emulate the VT100 (at IBM we used 3270 terminals) but never saw one. The advantage the 3270 had was that it could be channel attached to the mainframe and run at 2mbs at a time when the VT100 was limited to 19.6kbs.
