Yes. We really did not think about needing a specific power strip. (and the one we used was older). Grateful we got a warning and not something worse.

actually, I have been looking for a good powerstrip to plug in my space heater and my fan later this summer. (Had the experience no one thinks will happen to them, I was just lucky the power strip I was using turned off when it burned out instead of starting a fire) So, not a dull subject!
