Just waiting for my train, reading Micahel Ondaatje's "The Conversations" (interviews with the excellent Walter Murch) and this little dude alighted upon my knee. Yes I know it's a Lantern fly. I've killed my share of them but I decided to let this gregarious insect friend live.

Fully intended to go without dinner tonight due to late lunch but trains were not running and I had to take a shuttle bus and then walk for 15 minutes, so this is the plan now. I feel like I was pushed into this decision.

The world is insane. Worried about a lot of my at-risk friends today, particularly my trans friends, to whom I want to say, please reach out to me if you think there is anything I can help you with. And note: this Fall I want to treat NYC friends to ramen as often as I can.
