I read it twice over the summer, secretly hoping to incorporate it into my Fall Principles of Macro class, but alas. I really liked it.
When I was a kid there was a pretty terrible Russian metal band called "The Black Obelisk" (named after the novel), so I had wrong expectations about Remarque

I won't get it until after Christmas break, and at this point I don't know how to interpret it. Would students realize a tech-free classroom better for them or would they complain that I'm treating them like highschoolers? I don't know.

This is the first semester I am doing it and I like it. I print out handouts, and all the homework and exams are on paper, too. I use slides only when necessary and var activities as much as possible.
