“Govts haven't lived up to their promises made 10 years ago — to bring the world closer to a pathway consistent with limiting warming to 1.5°C at the speed needed. The deadline they themselves set needs to mark the beginning of a year that sees a turning point in govt action."

I just hope moving forward we'll have consumer protection regulations keeping up with the clean energy market.

Furthermore, clean energy has other markets to fall back on: wind, geothermal, hydro.

Though none of those are as accessible to consumers like solar is, solar has attracted plenty of consumers to the clean energy market and it would be a missed opportunity not to innovate more solutions.

No doubt dangling subsidies and high-tech investment loans in front of consumers played its role in the solar boom. The next four years will be a time of uncertainty though, most likely with US solar stalling out but the rest of the world is looking up and up.

Thankfully a solar panel bubble similar to the late 00s housing crisis isn't on the horizon.

The US tends to promote bubble markets, which I've seen myself with the rise of door to door solar panel sales ("Buy solar now! Pay later!").
