First seen in China but gaining popularity globally floating solar farms are cheap to install and maintain and help reduce evaporation losses. In addition dams already have strong connections to the electricity grid reducing the need for additional expensive grid connections.

We think action to improve lives does not have to be expensive, divisive, top-down or innovative - just copy what already works elsewhere.

Lives can be improved just by copying what already works elsewhere (with adjustments to local circumstances). Some of the ideas you may know, others will be new to you BUT you have never seen them together in a single catalogue.

The whole point of Global-Good-Ideas-Daily is that the ideas are not new, they are proven solutions that already work at scale in some places.

We look for practical solutions that work at scale, without the need for huge public or private investments, heavy governance or bureaucracy. Solutions that can be implemented quite easily and can make a difference to peoples lives.

We are not experts in the origins of these ideas, we try to credit the location (country, state, territory) that first implemented the idea at scale successfully (which may be different who first had the idea).
