Big progress made today on Rumi. I’m super close to finishing the first shoulder patch. Once I finish this one I gotta start it all over for the second patch. But this time I’ll have way more knowledge on technique. I have really loved learning to bead for this

Progress on Rumi! I’m making her golden outfit. So to start I took the reference images of her shoulder patches and I made a vector. I’m using that to be my stencil for beading the designs

I haven’t had many Rachel updates recently. But I did finish painting the staff. I got the wood texture I wanted through lots of dry brushing and experimentation. The last piece to this is attaching my feathers, my trim and the bandages

I’m so happy to debut my tempest Rachel Amber cosplay. This was a huge project for me that helped me learn to sew and foam craft better. I love this version of Rachel and I can’t wait to wear this cosplay Thursday of Katsucon.

I need to take “nicer” progress photos. But the hoodie is officially done. All of the major parts are sewed it. I have been hand sewing the red rope trim onto the sleeve. I also started on making the sash. My goal is to have this cosplay finished tonight and do a makeup test

The hood has been attached, I made bias tape for the first time. Added my trim to the hood and also created the first red band for the hoodie. It’s not perfect but I’m so proud. I have one more red band to make and then add a trim to the sleeves and this hoodie is complete

The staff for Rachel as been made out of EVA foam & foam clay. It’s my goal to get the foam clay to mimic tree bark like what would be found on driftwood. I have this idea that this staff was made out of a piece of wood found on the beach. And since I’m an Oregonian I know what that looks like.

Another update in the Rachel build. Both sleeves are done and have been attached. I’m so excited that I was able to do this. I decided to try on the top so far with the mask and I love the silhouette it’s giving me. Tomorrow I’m going to sew in the hood and then start working on the trim pieces

I stayed up until 3 am finishing one of the sleeves and attaching it to the sweater. Is it perfect. No. I definitely see some spots I could have done better. But it was my first time making something like this. I’m really proud of it. Tomorrow I’m going to tackle the other sleeve

More Rachel Updates! Last night I finished my first panel of strips and cut out one the sleeves. This is so much cleaner, the seams sit properly after being pressed and I was able to expand the size of the sleeve dramatically. Tonight I’m aiming to finish sewing the other panel and cut it out too

Some progress on my Rachel Prospera cosplay. I drafted the pattern for the sleeves, cut and sewed on. It’s not as big as I want so I am thinking of redoing the pattern larger to get that big silhouette I want it to have in photos. This is my first major thing I’ve sewed though and I’m really proud

My headpiece is complete. All made using EVA foam, foam clay, foil and tape. This was really fun and challenging. I learned how to make horns using foam clay and then improved my sanding and painting skills. Tomorrow I start the top

Progress so far on my Rachel Amber cosplay for Katsucon. I made the mask out of EVA foam and foam clay. And then the horns out of foil, tape and foam clay. Everything’s been sanded and primed and I pained the mask today. My goal is to finish construction of the headpiece tomorrow

My other favorite thing to do beside crafting cosplay is to make Kandi and fandom bracelets. I love making them to hand out at cons as well as more specialized ones. I’m always open to making “con Kandi” packs~
