I would absolutely prefer that! Given where we are currently, in American and world wide politics, it’s tough to imagine a path without further conflict.

I’ve been thinking about Voyager and how Janeway dealt with the Hirogen s4e18 and 19. Janeway managed to negotiate with an alien race that were killing her and her crew for sport.

We also need to keep in mind that in Trek cannon, earth went through a third world war, an almost mass extinction event that forced humans to re-examine things like borders, the economy, education, etc. That future we hope for requires us to face and push through these tough times ahead.
