Intriguing discussion on some profound topics. Video should start at ~29:40. Author Brené Brown first talks about Trevor Noah's reaction to her idea of "cognitive sovereignty", then she discusses what scares her and how she wants to future-ready her kids (it's not coding or physics). It's ~5 minutes

Just 1 day after a GOP senator introduced a bill to hold social media companies accountable for harms caused by content pushed by their algorithmic feeds, Trump posted on Truth Social accusing certain Democratic senators of "SEDITIOUS BEHAVIOR, punishable by DEATH!" – Who is holding him accountable?

While media attention focused on the recent elections, beyond the spotlight Americans continue to press for ways to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, protect their immigrant neighbors, and make businesses, not consumers, bear the cost of new infrastructure investments to support growth bit.ly/4oBtN1b

As a poll observer on Election Day, I'm there to report on any incidents that fall outside established procedures, but I also get to see how much voting means to so many Americans. The best part of the day is getting to hear one of the election workers call out, "First time voter!". bit.ly/4qTF5PR
Observations of a Poll Watcher - The American Leader
No incidents to report on the day when first-time voters are cheered and our election system again proves it is safe and secure.

We can no longer take for granted an elected official's pledge for a smooth transition when being replaced by a person from the opposite party. Thank you, Governor Youngkin.

I guess there’s not enough crime in DC to keep the troops busy. wapo.st/3HVJNLh
National Guard troops deployed in D.C. add sanitation, landscaping duties
Service members say they’re glad to help the National Park Service. But some question if trash removal and groundskeeping are an appropriate use of the military.

Troops at McPherson Metro in DC this morning. Don’t think there’s typically much crime here, so not sure what their job is. BTW - these unis include the soldier’s name on back of their cap (resolution not good enough to read theirs), in case ID is needed.

Republican actions are limiting Americans' ability to vote and have their voices heard. With the White House "flooding the zone", some are concerned that the defense against such authoritarian actions may be stretched too thin. Waiting for the midterms may not be the right strategy.
Fair Elections at Risk - The American Leader
Republicans are issuing orders and passing legislation that attacks the right to vote and undermines election integrity.

MAGA voters failed. If they thought they were voting for the destruction of the old system and anarchy, what they're getting instead is a new system that serves one man – Donald Trump – and his family and anyone else willing to pay tribute to him.

This email came from buildingourmovement.com (identified as a Republican operation by the Archive of Political Emails. Incredible shilling for support that is one more indication that money is what moves and motivates this party. This seems a small step away from buying votes.
