Granted I was 14 at the time, but I read Bashir’s performance being his nervousness about spying, and Garak’s manners to him coming from alien culture. I know now that’s not what they were going for, but this early in their relationship I like to think it could be either. Then later all romantic!

They no longer push the practice of regular self exams. It didn’t improve outcomes, increased anxiety, and caused many more unnecessary biopsies. Do be aware of how your particular breasts feel - both under curious fingers and also is there unusual soreness, swelling, puckering, or lumpiness?

And I thought Something Rotten cause when Nostradamus is explaining musicals, he says like ..sometimes they’ll stay on a note for a very long time while talking so when they change notes, YOU’LL NoTICE. but mostly you just sit there wondering why aren’t they just TaLking

Hollow Places was SO creepy scary without the thing I usually don’t like about Horror genre - people being awful to other humans. Totally different and memorable.

I see “lighted” in books all the time when conversationally no one would say that, we’d all say “lit”. Their way must be correct, but every time I encounter it, I’m taken out of the fictional world to one where someone needed to be correct.
