Tonight's movie is Girl Crazy (1943) starring Mickey Rooney and Judy Garland, featuring the music of George and Ira Gershwin with Tommy Dorsey and his orchestra. Lots of singing and dancing cowboys, Rooney cutting up, and Garland being wonderful.

Happy National Sea Monkey Day. I trained them to march in lockstep and to wear tiny pillbox hats. The goal was to teach them to fly and do my bidding, but mother flushed them "for the good of humanity."
