I am trying to understand why the Senate vote is worse than continuing to block passage.
I don't see that there was any sign the Republicans would shift at all. The only crease came from the President in suggesting they end the filibuster and that was not happening.

I got Southwest Airline points. Should I make a quick flight to Portland, walk around town for a day, then report back? I've never been to a war zone before and feel I should be posting reports from the front lines so friends and family will know how bad it is.
