So Starmer *really* believes that the poxy deal with the US brings more benefits to the UK than joining the customs union with our massive, next-door neighbour ???? I wonder if he has any evidence for that or its just bollocks ?

Does "The enemy of my enemy is my friend" apply? I guess it would if she were a powerful enemy of trump ..... but that is not the case.

I don't know whether this hypothetical CEO is 'worth' 5M$ to the company (I doubt it) but his/her wages are only a moral ... they have no impact on whether the company can afford to pay 20$/hr, or 30$/hr to its bulk workforce.

Your post importantly emphasises the gross wealth imbalance, both in 'the west' and globally ... but these simplistic sound-bites perhaps don't help. A CEO of a company with 10,000 employees on 15$/hr and earning 5 M$ annual only represents less than 2% of the wage bill (i.e. a 25 cent increase)

Excellent link. Thanks to both you and the authors of this article. It is both a complex matter (so no fault on your part !) but at the same time very simple. Most people involved - top to bottom - knew the 1st strike was illegal (murder). *Everyone* knew the 2nd strike was murder.
