3 years ago I suggested to The Bookseller magazine (trade journal of the publishing industry) they should highlight working-class writers. Happy to say they did. Even happier they included me with a profile & interview. Has there been another working-class edition since? No.

It's 10 years on from being invited by ITV Coronation Street to write the official tribute book to Deirdre Barlow. The book propelled me on to never return to my day job, and now I've written 11 sagas (one top 50 bestseller) and 5 cosy crimes!

Il Piatto in Scarborough is not only my favourite, genuine, Italian restaurant but the building once was home to Tom Laughton, brother of famous actor Charles Laughton, after Tom moved out of The Royal Hotel, which he owned.
