Yes, Gnome is Wayland. But my abstract, basic understanding is that Mutter does a bunch of shit the Gnome Way instead of the normal, intended way, and that's why f.ex. every steam game stutters and freezes like fuck under Gnome.

Addendum: game actually did run pretty well on a Ryzen AI Max box under Fedora Linux. Resolution set to 2K, graphics to medium, and still some stutter; but that's pretty damned good for an on-die GPU IMO, even if its suppsoosed to be an 8060-equivalent.

Now if they'd just get ROCm to work!
