What the pay now. Medicare can, if allowed, negotiate lower drug prices. Doctors may get paid less, but at least the know the will get paid, and quickly. The same cannot be said with private insurance. This coverage would be portable and not tied to employment.

On care whereas private insurance spends about 75-80 cents on care. The rest is spent on profit and denying claims. Medicare has more data than any private carrier which can be leveraged for more efficiency. Employers could pay for employees premiums while employed, which would be far cheaper than

Why are you so fucking scared of Medicare for all. Opening Medicare as a competitive option is the only answer. Costs will go down across the board because healthier people are added to the pool. Medicare is much more efficient than private insurers. Medicare spends 98 to 99 cents of every dollar
