Est. 2007 at the University of Glasgow for the development of research, scholarship and teaching in the area of Robert Burns (1759-96).
The Queen’s Anniversary Prize winner 2023.
‘Ae Fond Kiss’ is one of Burns’ most famous love songs, arising from his relationship with Agnes McLehose. The pair exchanged passionate letters as ‘Clarinda’ and ‘Sylvander’.

The emotive song is a powerful farewell to McLehose who was moving to the West Indies.
