Computer stuff for a livin. ttrpgs, books, and science to live. my dog catches the squirrel.

Would like to one day return to posting about ttrpgs and my love of terrible music/books
I constantly hear about some effort somewhere that wanted to take over their own workflow And QUICKLY learned that turn-key doesn't mean 'less expertise required'

It happened with automate & rolling release everything, and again w/ cloud cloud everything to the cloud, and now it's happening with AI

Which, neither of my degrees are in business but...

Raising your project's skill requirements and infrastructure costs while adding an element of inelasticity to your workflow

...doesn't sound like a way to reduce costs

It's the thing underlying why so many ppl like a lot of "bad art". Movies. Music. Shows....things that qualify for cult status

But you don't see anyone defending like....a gold plated clock in a block of clear acrylic.

One is someone's experience and the other is a mockery of it

That'll cut costs. Notoriously cheap race cars

How can it require a higher technical skill level? It's a car

I've (unfortunately) seen a Corvette with a trailer hitch, surely that means it's practical for every day use

Racecars have lots of horsepower

Great idea, we all deserve raises

Did try student-teaching middle and high school. No dice

It'd be elementary or college with NO in-between

Which... I can teach elementary age with a mythic level of patience and understanding

In-between that and college it's like ..."this is your parents fault". Which it is, but you can't say

Which, to be fair...

Elementary teacher would make like 1/3-1/4 what I'm doing now

...so I couldn't actually do it anymore...because capitalism

But. If money were the same and I could pick...

There's an extra grift before that step... Bailout that prioritizes big agribusiness. So buyouts are basically free rolls

There were tons of articles like this straight up and down the farm belt during the first term of all this... But not all of them are available anymore

Looks like a regular town obviously named and populated by very normal everyday humans.

The question wasn't if the photos exist, but who has them

They saw past Tuesday's victories as a loss of control and are punishing their voters

If wondering why random no-original-talent starlet's summer album isn't half bad

.or studio refuses to promote this artist or that movie

All must satisfy the algorithm and obey

...and that was before AI
