Endless pictures of the same place. Probably.

Manx, British, European.
Does music sometimes.
I saw this and wondered what the rainfall stats were like from the gauge I have in the back garden. Funnel is blocked up with a sycamore seed, probably since November. Bit embarrassing.

I don't think either of us are saying it is. Usually the blandness of the context is also the giveaway - such as 'leadership musings' on Linked-In.

Indeed. Why read something that nobody could be bothered to write?

I know an ex-Waffle House employee when I see one.

Thank Tiktok for the Radiohead revival. They're a bit obsessed with 'Let Down'.

3108 was the burglar alarm entry code at our old office building for this macabre reason. Might still be for all I know.

The packaging for those switches is very 'boutique' - perfect little boxes that you slide off the covers, inside, in symmetrical arrangement are your additional bolts and screws as if on display in a museum.

Only just found out Qbert was the turntablist on this record too. Off the scale.

Totally raining green.

I see what the architect of that building was going for.

So, it turns out that aside from Revolut, Kroo is the only one in the list that would let me sign up with them, based on where I am resident. (I feel a touch better about my ignorance of other banking apps out there!)

It only occurs to me now that another bombshell is that I'm based on the Isle of Man, and some of those places simply don't operate at all in our jurisdiction. Will be very interesting checking each one out though. Thank you for your insights...

Ok, well I've really had quite a reasonable experience with Revolut, great forex, they even paid £500 towards the expenses of me losing my passport last year like a nincompoop. The customer service standards of banks like RBSI, Lloyds and Barclays seem incredibly low bars to pass in my experience.
July 29, 2025 at 8:19 PM
Genuinely hadn't heard of them before, so thanks for taking the time to name them. And they're 'less awful' than Revolut?
July 29, 2025 at 7:36 PM
I'm not sure that providing enough information to help me personally but thanks for your response.

You can spin up as many sub-accounts as you like instantly, no forms, no grovelling, name them what you like, e.g. after a particular bill, automate the payment into that account of so-much-a-week and by the time the annual bill comes around you've got the balance saved up. Savings but granular.

I use the vaults/pockets feature for annual bills. Turns the next annual bill lump sum into a so-much-per-week expense. I suppose banks don't want to see you managing your money like that...

I wish the traditional banks would catch up with some of the things (service features) Revolut are doing, then I wouldn't need to use them.
