I wonder why they got rid of boink out. I could find out really quickly but I prefer to be oblivious to it so I can speculate so I would say it’s a licensing issue of it’s too much of a game, so the OS wouldn’t be taken seriously. Also is it just me or is Boink Out the Space Cadet pinball of macOS?

While on it’s own it may seem arbitrary they added it to the whole iWork suite and in apps like Pages and Keynote it makes a bit more sense + they’re probably preparing it for VisionOS and the Vision Pro since they kinda promised iWork would work sooooo….
