They are, but they're so cheap in sets and what's actually going on. It's a stark change from the Vegas stuff and earlier set pieces.

I love Diamonds. The front half of that movie is wonderful and it's very funny that Vegas clearly stole the entire budget so it completely runs out of steam on the back half.

I do love that despite the actor change, Connery properly conveys the "I fucking hate you," that Bond feels for Blofeld at this point.

Especially banging his submarine around at the end.

I like the implication in Goldeneye that he wasn't necessary and the whole thing was just allowed to send him off into retirement.

Goldeneye works very well as a last-one. (And then The Rock happens 20 years later, yeah I'm aware the timeline gets funky here.)

James Bond is presciently making fun of Elon Musk well ahead of time (except now he'd be ordered to protect him I guess)

I prefer the idea that James does it on purpose to judge their response. If they seem to know who he is, then they're a high-level criminal who's aware of spy craft. If not, they're either a good bluffer or actually nobody.
