Yes, he was. They just weren't televising and bragging about it. Every year of Biden's administration, ICE dragged away more people than in the previous year, including the year he took over from Trump. This is part of a steady escalation, not a sudden change.

You shouldn’t trust the people who insist that the Democratic Party cannot fail, only that the people fail the Democratic Party

The US inviting Julani to New York all but confirms that ISIS is a CIA-backed terrorist organization

Believe it or not, funding public transit and bike lanes, and supporting walkable, dense neighborhoods in urban areas is a necessary component of preserving rural and agricultural ways of life

Knowing basic facts about US foreign policy makes you sound like a complete schizo to the average American. Why yes Susan, the US does support Al-Qaeda…our gov just invited one of them to NYC and regard him as the noble leader of Syria

There’s no one less trustworthy as a political analyst than someone who uncritically parrots the “Dems need to stand for even less and be pro-life to win elections”. You’re not going to scapegoat women, black and brown people, or queer people your way to winning. You need to stand for something… 1/3

Y’all ever think about how it benefits the ruling class to have us believing in bounded individualism, all while becoming increasingly sick/disabled right as the climate and ecological crises begin to accelerate?
April 11, 2025 at 3:07 PM
Dang, y’all ever think about how the (ongoing) COVID pandemic has been used by our ruling class to desensitize us to mass death, disabling, and displacement? To condition us into individualism and disregard for our fellow human beings? To render us docile for the crimes they’re planning?

Something the "so you think the law means anything now" doomers fail to grasp: the importance of buying time. Nobody, and I mean NOBODY, has infinite resources and infinite capacity for managing complexity.

Make your opponent work. Make their every decision complex and their every move costly.

What’s the material difference between:
1.) “we’re working
for a ceasefire”(but will never stop providing bombs to be dropped on hospitals)
2.) “Palestinians deserve a better life” (we’re gonna expell them from their land and make big $$$ on real estate developments)

Explain it to me like I’m 5

Elon Musk saying the Nazis were communist is clear proof that he is in fact *not* a genius. It is a breathtakingly ignorant claim. The Nazis were feverishly anti-communist, and massacred some one million socialists and communists for their political views.

Let's talk about the "escalation ladder". At any point in a conflict, you have a number of self-defense options ranging from lower risk (legally, ethically, physically) to higher risk.

On the bottom rung of the escalation ladder are options like raising your voice. At the top would be deadly force.
In these scenarios, the predator counts on their willingness to use tactics higher up on the "escalation ladder" than what the victim is willing to use.

By the time the victim makes the required mental shift, it's too late. The predator has already maneuvered them into a disadvantaged position. 6/
