They high key don’t care about violence happening in marginalized communities, they just don’t want that to come downtown, they want it contained in the hood! If they did care about saving teen lives then they’d be rushing to pass the #peacebook instead of wasting time on a curfew!

We’re wishing survivors a swift recovery. We’re glad that they will receive trauma informed care from Comers Children Hospital. Youth need as much support services as possible. That’s why it’s infuriating to us that some of city council is worried about teen trends instead of teen lives! Thread👇🏾👇🏾🧵🧵

14y/o Shorty K & 15y/o Lil Ksoo (Kenwon) were killed a week apart from each other. Several other teen’s & children have been killed this month #Chicago. These deaths are preventable with the more resources available to youth! Tell city council to keep the 2,000 youth jobs & pass the PeaceBook now!

We had a great time entertaining other teens at the Open Mic & it felt good to hold healing space later that evening for families impacted by gun violence. Building community & creating safe spaces is what gives us fulfillment. 💯 no Bap.

Today we’re holding space for creatives, teen artists & musicians. Then later this evening we’re hosting healing space for families directly impacted by gun violence. Violence prevention is wholistic & should create safe spaces for expression, reflection, repair & healing. We keep us safe!

Late post but we wanted to thank @seventeen_in_america for inviting us out to Florida to participate in a powerful conversation with other youth around the country about the impacts of gun violence and our community led solutions to them.
