We add all of the app registrations we care about to a security group, then we have an icinga check which uses graph API to list all secrets for each app registration in that group and warn if they are close to some expiry threshold. Old-skool but works nicely.

Windows laptop with VSCode remote to an on-prem Linux box has proved remarkably effective for me. I nearly fell off my chair when I copied my ~/.ssh/ from my old WSL to a new OOTB Win 11 install, and SSH Just Worked. Still haven't installed WSL on the new machine.
