On our doorstep, walk past it most days, and today decided to go into the Tower of London and remind myself of British history spanning back 1,000 years - the poppy display commemorating 80 years since the end of WWII is beautiful.

Georgetown is the one of the oldest parts of Washington DC, and has retained it’s charm and elegance in both it’s buildings and it’s vibe - no wonder the Kennedys lived here and students flock to the illustrious Georgetown University.

Washington DC is grand yet small, history rubbing alongside contemporary, and easy going and friendly. The key sites are amazing, but over the coming days we are looking forward to exploring the other less photographed side of DC.
