Random shoutout to #NCC! Local planners built #Ottawa & Gatineau w/their backs to the water; @NCC_CCN
is helping us face it. Pathways, bistros, stunning RiverHouse, swimming, etc. is transforming how we enjoy water. Kiweki Point? A home run! Kudos where it’s due! (Images via NCC)

The NCC doesn't often get credit it deserves for what it does for #Ottawa. Reality is they keep plugging away w/huge game changing initiatives. New music venue w/Live Nation will bring artists that usually skip us over = vibrancy, #citybuilding ncc-ccn.gc.ca/news/the-ncc...

There's some interesting initiatives in today's provincial announcement of $20M to Revitalize Downtown #Ottawa. Surely more $ is required but it seems like advocacy from @ottawaBOT's and others is resonating. #citybuilding

Happy to share my thoughts on #city-building in OBJ. #Ottawa is on cusp of big transformation (eg Senators at LBF) but we're held back because we have no vision for what it means to be a mature city. Post-amalgam Ottawa turns 25 next year. What do we want to be when we grow up?

Many city-building lessons to be found in amalgamation period, local expert argues
It’s been nearly 24 years since Ottawa amalgamated on Jan. 1, 2001, which means the city as we know it today is in its “young adulthood,” according to Greg Jodouin.
