It's been a great little week of @durhammemsa.bsky.social conference, along with manuscript work in Durham and Lincoln.

Honestly fed up of the tenancy for some people on this website to forget that two things are often true at once (and not everywhere can or should adopt the solutions chosen by the US in the 1950s)

Always great to be in Glasgow, especially for three days of interesting @sgsah.bsky.social events, including presenting at the second year PhD student symposium (tysm @fordeviot.bsky.social for the action shot). Always fun to think about how to make the medieval capture other people's minds

Love opening my news app to see that the ehrc thinks I don't have a right to privacy (normally taken as a usual part of the current social contract), but the social contract should be changed so I can't use most public facilities

Dydd Gwyl Dewi hapus pawb! Whether your leeks are mini and limp or ginormous and pirky, I hope you're able to find time to do the little things today.

(This was for the 'largest leek competition' at the eisteddfod in primary school - from which we were disqualified for obvious reasons)

A great review, and a great rallying call for purposeful and productive pop histories

A bit of an odd one, brought up by having to illustrate an upcoming blogpost with copyright free things, but does anyone know who produced the lithographs in the first edition of Lady Charlotte Guest's edn/transl. of the Mabinogion (1849)? Has anyone written about them? archive.org/details/mabi...

Mum and Dad got me a new hillwalking raincoat for Xmas (tysm) and pointed out the colour seemed appropriate - which colour is amethyst and which is medieval??? The Dark Ages strike again??? Why???

I know its silly to morn the passing of a Library Catalogue system, but I will genuinely miss SAULCAT when it gets decommissioned at Christmas. You were a good little Cat, even if your 'did you mean' function couldn't do its job for toffee.

Having not tried to print anything today, this message popping up is slightly worrying. What have I done to deserve the wrath of the printer Gods? Do they offer forgiveness of Printing sins? Who will perish as a result of my leaving the true path?

Looking through some photos from some rolls of film that I thought were completely ruined by a mystery light leak in my camera, and ,,, they're not so bad. There's so much I could write about this water-font thing I came across on the Mill Glen above Tillicoultry in May's first flush of heat
