The multiracial population in the U.S. grew by 276% from 2010 to 2020. Yet, researchers often lump anyone with multiple identities into a heterogeneous and nonsensical "Other" category. As a multiracial researcher, I know the frustration of being forced to choose or being made invisible in data.
