Having said that, I really *want* them to bring him back. Irrational, maybe, but I don't care. I think he has something left in the tank for now and he makes the 2025 team better

I'd be concerned about long term opportunity cost if the deal guaranteed him more than 3 or maybe 4 years. I don't think profiles are necessarily an individual player's destiny, but the fact remains that he's a large 30 year old r/r 1b/dh who just turned in his worst year. Danger, Will Robinson
