What if politicians had to, as part of their job description everyday: meditate for 15-30 mins before and after work; take five deep breaths (think box breathing or pranayama exercises) before every meeting; and exercise for 1 hour. Also, connect with Nature, at least once a week. What would happen?

I just watched the first two episodes of #BlackMirror. I'm feeling unsettled and curious, and finding it difficult to make sense of and articulate my reflections. I thought my unsettledness had to do with the content and depiction of reality. But no, it's not just/primarily that.

I was #meditating by the lake today. With my eyes closed, I asked the wind to blow away my insecurities, the sun to gift me with radiance, the water to provide me with clarity, the earth to ground me, and the ether to connect me to the Universe. Then, I asked for a deeper connection to Nature.

I started Brené Brown's "Atlas of the Heart" this morning, which has (re)inspired many ideas. For e.g., what if I could pull together a similar compendium for humanitarianism? Or for love?

I don't know that it'll change the world. But I'm hopeful it would help people feel seen and heard.

Zaria Court Kigali (part of Zaria Group co-founded by Masai Ujiri) is so exciting: "It’s a powerful reimagining of what infrastructure can do, not just in terms of economic output, but in how it shapes identity, opportunity, and aspiration."

Why am I in my thirties and only now coming across Jason Silva?

I just watched his latest YouTube video, which discussed his new book, "Sacred Derangement." My sense is that it's provocative and radical, and an invitation to the unknown while staying grounded in Self. I'm curious. I'm ordering.
Having read Dr. Benjamin's book, "Imagination: A Manifesto," I can only imagine how inspiring her talk will be!

Now, time to google Jason Silva!

As an aside, the more I learn about MozFest and @mozilla.org, the more my heart swells with awe and wonder. Here's hoping I find myself in Spain 🤞🏽
What if the future of the internet relies on us unlearning the "truths" that are holding us back?

Jeremy O. Harris' "Slave Play" is gripping. Days later, I'm still asking questions about the nuances expressed regarding history, race, intimacy, power, and trauma.

Equally interesting, but not surprising: my hetero, male partner and I's immediate interpretations of the scenes were different.

I'm 15 mins into Dead Poets Society and I miss #teaching so much. I don't have a PhD, but years ago, I had a mentor who believed in me to let me create and teach a grad-level course.

Now that I have much more exp, I'd love to be a Professor of Practice. Adding it to my manifestation list!

Heading to the Canadian International Council's Couchiching Conference today, hosted at @agakhanmuseum.org! So excited to engage in critical topics: AI, the future of multilateral institutions, Arctic security and sovereignty, and cultural security in an era of social media and foreign interference!

This is perhaps one of the coolest things I have ever come across!

To me, it reflects the many beautiful types and dimensions of sound in our humanity. I can't stop smiling as I listen and learn.

Congrats on your 10th anniversary @citiesandmemory.bsky.social 🎉
As part of our tenth anniversary celebrations, I’m proud to share an amazing journey in sound with you all today, in this collection of some of the most extraordinary field recordings from across the entire Cities and Memory project. citiesandmemory.bandcamp.com/album/the-fi...

Love this!!! I especially appreciate that the work will be co-designed with youth and will use a distributed network approach! Looking forward to following along when the project launches in early 2026!
We just received a $3 million grant from the John Templeton Foundation to jump-start our purpose research efforts!
We'll be starting work on the National Youth Purpose Survey, which will measure how youth think and feel about purpose, the first survey of its kind!

Here are five #books that are driving my curiosity about #humanity this quarter:

-Dan Brown's "The Secret of Secrets"
-Brené Brown's "Strong Ground"
-Sir John Templeton's (w/ James Ellison) "Templeton Plan"
-Sumana Roy's "How I Became A Tree"
-Ruha Benjamin's "Imagination: A Manifesto"

Thoughts?

I've always felt that trees offer so much wisdom, grace, and compassion to our world. Sumana Roy's "How I Became A Tree," offers beautifully personal reflections in this regard.

Imo, trees are the epitome of spiritually enlightened beings.

Next time you're out, try saying hi. They'll say hi back.

Career transitions are tough, esp when your A-type personality shockingly doesn't know what's next.

But, I do find myself asking, and guided by, these q's: How do we actualize love? How do we lift the essence of humanity - love, awe, wonder, curiosity, purpose, meaning, etc - into our Humanity?
September 26, 2025 at 2:23 PM
Absolutely, yes!!!
Autistic & ADHD people are not a burden.
We are pattern finders, problem solvers, creators, carers.
The real burden is a society that refuses to value what we bring.

Masala chai and afro beats are my go-to!
Caffeine and energising music works wonders for getting into the right headspace to do be productive.

Beautifully written!

Reminds me a bit of what Father Richard Rohr gracefully writes in his book "Falling Upward: A Spirituality for the Two Halves of Life": learning to embrace the power of paradox, and learning to receive the whole picture - light, dark, and all the subtle shades in between.
Knots don’t loosen with force, in fact, they soften with patience and kindness. Here’s how we can untangle humanity’s divisions without breaking the chain.⛓️‍💥

Why Pulling Harder Won’t Work: Untangling Humanity’s Knot
In a world tangled by division, pulling harder only tightens the knot. Maybe kindness is the only path to finally loosen what binds us.

I made a tough decision to step down from the UN.

I don't mean to wholly dismiss the work of the #UN - it's an important entity. But I don't understand why we don't say, use, or apply: love, awe, wonder, purpose, meaning, etc. The essence of our #humanity has been legalized and reduced.
