I believe in what you're doing, and I believe that you are correct and brave and strong

That being said I know what I'm going to be doing in the morning, I'm going to tell the people who I care about the most in the world to be safe regardless of how far away they are. I'm going to remind the same folks who 5 years ago I was texting in the morning as soon as I woke up that I love them.

Today I stood in a bathtub with a stranger and asked them who they voted for in 2020 they responded "no politics please". Sometimes I forget who I am.

About a week ago I started being late to work every day because although my house is a dead zone my car is not. I sit in my car in the mornings I scroll, I look for my friends even knowing that most of them are hours away. Its a flavor of deja vu that doesn't surprise me and still disappoints me.

About 5 years ago I would spend my nights laying in bed while watching live streams of protests in downtown Portland. I would set my alarms in the morning so that I could check the internet, check arrest records and message my friends telling them what I see and reminding them to be careful.
