Most wands I make fall between 12 1/4 to 13 inches… 20 1/2 is more wand than anyone would need. Here’s Black Locust longer than I’ve ever made.

Going through my burn pile for colder weather I came across this piece that I had dismissed as too flawed to make a wand. But, with closer inspection I realized I could make a wand with a unique shape to avoid the checks and the knots. youtu.be/-S1RIh0i1gI
