USL Championship leader Loudoun United has acquired D.C. United defender Garrison Tubbs on a season-long loan with option for recall. Seven MLS starts last year as a rookie, no appearances this year, some injury issues this spring.

Taking a wait and see approach on the VA Revolution merger. Definitely could address some of the issues around becoming D1 one day, like a full time staff, or dedicated academy, but sounds like they could make stadium improvements as well.

Loudoun bags a win in their home opener behind two brilliant goals by Aboukoura. The team will definitely be tested next week against Hartford, as they will be missing Yannis Leerman, who got a red card in this match.

Loudoun going with the same starting 11 vs NCFC, hopefully we get the same result as last week...

Awfully nice gift to the MLS teams that get to start in round 3 of the US Open Cup...

Could Loudoun end up in a D1 USL league? Cool thought, but two significant hurdles I could think of:

1. D1 status requires teams in the league to have capacity of 15,000. Only 3 USL teams meet that currently and Loudoun would need to triple capacity to reach that.

Wowzers, certainly a big bit of news to wake up to
BREAKING: The USL intends to launch a 12- to 14-team Division One league in 2027-28. USL believes the U.S. is more than capable of accommodating more D1 teams.

Move over, Major League Soccer. A rival top flight men’s league is coming to the U.S.
USL is launching a new league with first-division sanctioning, offering an alternative to MLS and potentially opening the door to pro-rel.

@stevengoff.bsky.social Hey Steven, wondering if you had any information on any of the trialists or players TBA who are training with Loudoun down at preseason training currently?

Looks like Jacob Erlandson could have an opportunity to play for the Philippines National team.

Loudoun draws West Chester FC in the first round of the US Open Cup. Will travel to PA March 17th for the match. Wonder if Loudoun does a bus trip like they did to Richmond last season?

Loudoun signs Aaron Hurge to an academy contract for the 2025 season. This allows him to maintain eligibility to play NCAA at Ohio State for the upcoming academic year. MD native and former Columbus Crew academy product, as well as Alexandria Reds player. More midfield depth, I like it.

A couple more weeks until the USL season starts and Loudoun still needs to sign (or loan) another strong CB
February 2, 2025 at 4:39 PM
Nice signing. Bringing back an original LUFC player. This will provide some support to McCabe and Skundrich, while hopefully allowing Valot to play further up the field where he is more effective. 21 years old and already some MLS experience as well.

Sad to see Dane leave, great guy. But he also deserves to get some regular minutes and would be sitting behind Hugo all season again. No doubt he will be the starter for Westchester in no time.
