I have questions. Do the contestants dress as their favorite conifer? Are there separate categories, e.g. Best Use of Tinsel? Most strategic ball, I mean ornament, placement?

Got an e-vite to the retirement party of a former co-worker, someone that used to delight in making my work day a living Hell. Responded with my regrets (as if, LOL) only to get a mssg back from the organizer to the effect of "Oh, come & bury the hatchet. It was a long time ago!".
