I'm working on a design featuring ONE OF THE BEST PLANTS EVER. Bedstraw (Galium spp.) is a low-growing plant with little hairs that stick, Velcro-like, to humans and animals (the stickiness is not painful, just sticky!). This helps the plant disperse its seeds far and wide.

Sustainable practices are important to me but I have a lot of complicated feelings re: Earth Day. It can be performative & superficial, especially when people don’t dig into the fraught history of colonization, environmental racism, eugenics, ableism, etc. that are part of modern environmentalism. ⬇️

This beautiful card features a hand drawn waterfall in the incomparable Columbia River Gorge. Wahclella Falls is a stunning cascade just east of Portland, in an area impacted by the 2017 Eagle Creek Fire.

Aplogies to those who I worried with my sarcastic comments yesterday! 😅

I never use AI because:
- I have innate creativity
- I love to be hands-on with my art

I’ve decided that my “no AI, ever” stance was too extreme. I mean, drawing is such a drag, I just created four cards in two minutes, and it probably-definitely stole its imagery from my competitors so that’s just, like, good business sense! 💪 #Efficiency #GirlBoss

When working on a new piece, I tend to be a bit secretive (and also majorly hyperfocused 😂) but here’s a rare glimpse of a work in progress! I’m working on a series of flower illustrations that will become greeting cards for a local shop… more details soon!!! 😍💐🌹🌼🌸

Here’s a recent creation perfect for spring: the “morel” support card!

Send punny greetings to a loved one going through a tough time with this beautiful letterpress printed card featuring an original illustration by @jennidenekas.bsky.social

I gave some of my bird cards a refresh with the help of local shop Symbiosis Printing! 😍

I’d originally gotten my cards printed by one of those big online shops—not because I wanted to but because it was cheap and fast. I’d recently lost my other job and I needed to revamp my Etsy shop quickly.

Psst… Mothers’ Day will be here before you know it! Keep ahead of the curve by ordering an Awesome Possum card for your mom 🥰 That’s one thing off your busy spring to-do list, and you and your mom will feel great knowing that your purchase supports an independent artist! 👩‍🎨

Here’s a recent experiment that turned out so lovely, it’s now a listing in my shop & will be sold at Wednesday’s Camera Swap Meet at Commonwealth Skate, 6–9 pm!

The message “you are not alone” is hand printed using a hand-carved linoleum block & water-based ink on repurposed color photo prints.

The last several months have been grim. I’ve been past my saturation point for quite a while.

Nonetheless, I keep making art. It’s honestly one of the only things keeping me afloat (mentally, not financially, lol).

The start of a 382-mile series… Oregon Coast Trail notecards, featuring hand-drawn images by @jennidenekas.bsky.social based on original photos from her 2017 hike of Oregon’s entire public coastline!

First off: Peter Iredale shipwreck at Fort Stevens State Park, near the trail’s northern terminus.
