After a horrible week or so, my lovely girl, Ginny, now associates the light slowly fading in the afternoon with the imminent assault of fireworks. She has already gone to her safe space under the polytunnel bench and is shaking nervously.

I'm not birder. Can anyone enlighten me as to what birds these are? I watched it for ages. It's in southern England.

A favourite brewery and bar near to me has been forced to close today because Landlords are, almost invariably, tossers. Good luck and Thank You to Tony and everyone else who has worked so hard to try and make it work.

Despite refusing access to the coast around Osborne House sending the coastal path along a busy A road instead.
And wrecking my lovely OS maps in the process. I refuse to call the path by its supposed name and it spoils any coastal walks I take.

Christmas Eve beer with the girls and very welcoming staff at the Thirsty Pig in Maidstone. A great pub, well worth a visit. #irishsetter #goodbeerguide

5 years ago, these were apple and plum orchards. They have since all been grubbed out and replaced with vineyards. This is on the greensand ridge, not one of the "traditional" areas for English wines. Thousands of hectares have changed crop. If you're a climate change sceptic, wake up.
