Panel 3 The mummy begins taking off bandages off its face, revealing a determined, living human with tired eyes and black hair. It's other hand is gripping the handle of the sword. "But everyday, I see friends and strangers keep going. So I get up too." Panel 4 The mummy pulls the sword out of the hole in its chest as it fully sits up. "Even though it's hard. I see change on the horizon. I see hope in those who get up." Panel 5 Ink drawing of the mummy's feet. The mummy is now sitting on the edge of it's bed, about to stand. "So, even if it feels hollow at times..." Panel 6 Mummy is standing at a doorway, silhouette by light. Hair and wrapping blow in the wind. It grips the sword that had pierced it down. "I'll keep getting up. I'll keep working on what I can. I'll keep striving for the change I want to see and the hope thay should be there."

I had initially planned on doing something lighthearted from the other day, but this felt relevant...

I'm Honour and I am teacher, illustrator, and comic artist living in Texas/California! I've created covers &illustrations for middle grade books and I'm currently seeking representation and pitching a graphic novel about Capybaras in Space!

The rainbow is spreading in all directions but originates into a book held by a child zebra. Everything is in a Reading-Rainbow style aesthetic.
