Not sure where this is but in UK CPO powers already exist to do this under various statutory powers - I spend my working life using CPO for a variety of regeneration, infrastructure and development. Money, skills, risk appetite and political will are more likely to be a blocker.

Also happy to ‘speak truth to power’ for similar salary. Plenty of billionaires could do with this service..

If using camps was about reducing costs of hotels then they fail, as cost more

If it is about "community cohesion", they fail as still generate tensions

If it was about "safe accommodation", they fail as they are shown not to be.
