That’s true. I was an H1B ages ago and I have friends currently stuck in bad jobs because it’s so hard to find another employer willing to go through the process to sponsor. I wouldn’t say it’s because they’re underpaid though, it’s more because they’re stuck in toxic work environments.

Completely agree. Also adding that the whole notion that H1B workers are given jobs because they are cheaper than hiring Americans is incorrect and only fuels into xenophobic rhetoric that foreigners are stealing jobs.
