In Illinois, a local Teamsters union was on strike for 6 months. Hundreds of community supporters showed up to rallies, organized testimony in front of the company's board of trustees about the wage theft occurring, and successfully pushed for a county ordinance against wage theft.

When the bosses and corporations see that the solidarity goes beyond the union, and that community members are ready to take action alongside members, it's impactful. Why? They know their profits are at risk if their customers stop coming. They know collective action is a threat to exploitation.
