I work overnights at a gas station, and last week a customer made a ly*ching joke to my black coworker. Since then, we've been high alert for any sort of violence, as we are in a rural part of WV. I'm entering a mindset that we cannot trust anyone, even nice regulars, after Monday.

I'm glad you're OK after that interaction, and I hope you don't have to go through that again. It's a dangerous time right now.
