1. He was a speechwriter in the first incarnation of this administration. He was fired in 2018 when it became public knowledge that he'd given a speech at a white supremacist conference.

As a very progressive/leftist person myself, who has made peace with moderate Dems for the past 8 years in order to "hold the line" against Trumpism, I can tell you this much:

Everything the right does makes room for new/young fascists.

Everything Dems do alienates potential young leftists.
