this is well and good, I guess, but if they're going easier on 4chan than on YouTube ... and also many "mainstream" companies are cheerfully signing on bc it gives them pretext to hoover up even more, and mainly adults', data.

another update that I didn't see in the thread: a bit of a price change. (also I love the otherworldly light in this picture, where literally no two shadows are the same proportionate length and direction, never mind appropriate to the twilight suggested by the sunset sky behind the house)
I really can't explain the joy of this Zillow listing for 25380 Coral Canyon Rd, Corona, CA, I apologize, but what I meant to emphasize here is that the price has dropped by about 500K, to 589K. Also this picture is shopped in some way that means there is a huge set of shadows from a tree in the front yard, no shadow from a prominent streetlamp, and short shadows from the edge of the house that are from a completely different angle than the tree shadows. None of the shadows are consistent with the pink-and-gold sunset sky behind the house.

How to describe the nightmare that is Patricia Piccinini's Skywhale? Well, it's an extremely large hot-air balloon with a grey-blue back and rosy-pink underside, with five dangling pink breasts on each side of its torso (about where wings or arms would sit). It has a forked tail with scalloped edges, and its face has two small eyes, with brows, and a large mouth running between. In this picture, Skywhale's basket is still on the ground, in a grassy field next to a white truck and some people; the light is crepuscular. The sky is mostly clear apart from some cloud near the horizon at the left of the picture, and in the background are a few trees.

"family photo" of politicians at the NATO meeting today. Pete Hegseth is wearing an ultramarine suit with a Stars and Stripes pocket square and brown shoes. All the other guys are wearing black or dark blue suits and black shoes, and their pants have a break and hit at the top of the shoe, where Hegseth's pants have no break and hit above the ankle. deadnaming trans people is deliberate, and the cruelty is the point. it binds together laughing abusers and reminds the victims that they are powerless and will not be protected by the law. Serwer missed trans kids here bc Trump et al had not yet cottoned to what perfect victims they'd be.

It reflects a clear principle: Only the president and his allies, his supporters, and their anointed are entitled to the rights and protections of the law, and if necessary, immunity from it. The rest of us are entitled only to cruelty, by their whim. This is how the powerful have ever kept the powerless divided and in their place, and enriched themselves in the process.
