I was very much against Brexit, and still am, but I suspect that the decline in the high street has more to do with Bezos and his ilk than with Brexit. Or rather, it's the public - they have chosen convenience and low cost, and in all honesty who can blame them, really?

So have they made their proposals severe fully in the expectation of having to scale them back, thereby making the eventual cuts seem less draconian? In which case shame on them. Or, has the backlash actually taken them by surprise? In which case shame on them.
