10 U.S. Code § 12406 - National Guard in Federal Service:
Whenever— (1)the United States, or any of the Commonwealths or possessions, is invaded or is in danger of invasion by a foreign nation; (2)there is a rebellion or danger of a rebellion against the authority of the Government of the United States; or (3)the President is unable with the regular forces to execute the laws of the United States; the President may call into Federal service members and units of the National Guard of any State in such numbers as he considers necessary to repel the invasion, suppress the rebellion, or execute those laws. Orders for these purposes shall be issued through the governors of the States or, in the case of the District of Columbia, through the commanding general of the National Guard of the District of Columbia. As the Supreme Court has made crystal clear, the proper recourse for a party subject to an injunction it believes is legally flawed — and is indeed later shown to be so flawed — is appellate review, not disobedience. As the Court reiterated in Walker v. City of Birmingham, 388 U.S. 307 (1967), An injunction duly issuing out of a court of general jurisdiction with equity powers, upon pleadings properly invoking its action, and served upon persons made parties therein and within the jurisdiction, must be obeyed by them, however erroneous the action of the court may be, even if the error be in the assumption of the validity of a seeming, but void law going to the merits of the case. It is for the court of first instance to determine the question of the validity of the law, and until its decision is reversed for error by orderly review, either by itself or by a higher court, its orders based on its decision are to be respected, and disobedience of them is contempt of its lawful authority, to be punished. Id. at 314 (emphasis added) (quoting Howat v. Kansas, 258 U.S. 181, 189–90 (1922)). That “rule of law,” the Supreme Court explained, “reflects a belief that in the fair administration of justice no man can be judge in his own case,” no matter how “exalted his station” or “righteous his motives.” Id. at 320–21.

What happened was a tragedy, and I don't really subscribe to any of the celebration of people being dead because they are rich. But the "everyone's out to crush my specialness because they are threatened by it" energy is just such a poison...I'm so tired.
