Tonight marks fifty years since the Edmund Fitzgerald went down on Lake Superior, taking her crew of 29 with her. The "Big Fitz" still remains the largest ship ever sunk on the Great Lakes, and the most storied.

I took a driver's re-test today, which is required in my state after my recent medical issues. I passed, but I'm surprised at how nervous I was. I mean, the last time I took a test with an instructor in the car, it was in one of these:

A Chrysler Turbine Car AND a Tucker Torpedo parked next to one another. Only 50 of each were ever built. Talk about a once in a lifetime picture! (and I've actually gotten to sit in one of each!)

Tiny Alex the Lion may be tiny, but this machine makes most anything look tiny! Each one of those track pads weighs close to 1000lbs! The top of the track is over 5 feet from the ground.

Can you believe Ford actually had this thing built with factory authorization?? High 12-second 1/4-mile times at around 113mph. It was built to answer the Dodge-backed "Ramtruck". (Which was just a tad bit faster, btw)
