well no because there *is* an explanation here, but yes I take your point and would add that 'sufficiently advanced mathematics' means, like, high school algebra

this gets close! the fact that you seemingly had only a 1 and 3 chance at first is crucial. but it's really about unpacking the possibility space

every explainer I've seen is like 'so yeah you'd obviously change your guess. it's obvious :)' and the comments section is nothing but people saying 'I was waiting for the explanation and it never came and I guess I'm just stupid'
